The ILS invites all members to attend “Agility and Innovation for Corporate Counsel,” a one-day seminar hosted by the Juncadella Corporate Counsel Group (JCCG), Morgan Lewis, and the University of Miami School of Law at the Shalala Student Center, 1330 Miller Drive, Coral Gables, Florida 33146. This unique event brings together corporate counsel from multinational corporations serving the Americas and will include CLE discussions on timely topics – including professionalism, gender diversity, ethics, data and cybersecurity, labor and employment, and data privacy – and a hands-on collaborative approach to learning about technology. February 14-15, 2020
On February 14-15, the University of Miami School of Law will host the American Society of International Law’s International Economic Law Biennial Conference. The theme for 2020 is “Designing International Economic Law: Challenges and Opportunities.” The Conference will feature more than 75 speakers from private practice, government, and academia, addressing issues of trade law, international investment law, commercial arbitration, finance, and much more. Keynote speaker former U.S. Congressman and former Chair of the WTO Appellate Body James Bacchus will open the Conference. It will close with a panel of government officials looking to the future. A special lunch plenary will debate what to preserve within the investor-state dispute settlement system. CLE credit is available. On April 8, 2020, invites all members to participate to the Florida/Quebec Forum: ILS Workshop & Cooperation Agreement Ceremony. The Ceremony with the Quebec Bar participants and the Workshop will be held at the Akerman Conference Rooms, 390 N. Orange Ave., 11th Floor, in Orlando, Florida. The Workshop will discuss the USMC Agreement; Sports and Transportation Law; Cyber-security & Technology; Entertainment Law; Florida Courts and Judicial System; and Business Law for Investments. The $75 Registration Fee will include CLEs, Ceremony, and luncheon.
