ILS Chair’s News & Notes

We are staying virtual for now. The Florida Bar announced the Annual Convention will be entirely virtual in June. As soon as we know our date and time, we will share the details for the ILS Annual Meeting and select Committee Meetings. Speaking of virtual, we had a great ILS Lunch&Learn Zoom program with Effie Silva and Bob Becerra. Fiduciary Trust International continues to be a gracious host and we were able to meet this week and catch up. We look forward to more ILS Lunch&Learn lectures and hope you can make plans to join us from wherever you are.
As companies pivot and practice groups adapt, we ask our ILS Members to continue sharing career breaks with us. We know folks are transitioning into different work, our colleagues are expanding their focus areas to meet new client demands, and we are all figuring out what practicing international law remotely means going forward. Keep the information coming.
This month and in early June the ILS Board will be reaching out to Executive Council Members individually to discuss ongoing leadership goals for 2020-2021. Chairs of the select ILS Committees are encouraged to start putting together their annual reports and penning goals for 2020-2021. This is a great time to reach out to folks who you know should be a member of the Section and get them involved in your Committee.
Thank you everyone! Stay safe and for those in South Florida, stay dry!
