PPE Transactions in a Pandemic: Achieving Compliance and Identifying Fraud
April 22, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Please join The Florida Bar International Law Section for its webinar, “PPE Transactions in a Pandemic: Achieving Compliance and Identifying Fraud,” on Thursday, April 22, 2021, starting at 12:00 PM Eastern. The Webinar, featuring an incredible group of panelists, including ILS heavy-weights Robert Becerra (ILS Chair), James Meyer (ILS Chair-Elect), and Peter Quinter (ILS Past-Chair), will discuss the pandemic phenomena of fraud in the purchase, sale, and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), which has become a multi-billion dollar market during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Among the topics that will be discussed are the potential dangers from quality problems to fraud involved in engaging in the PPE market and due diligence to reduce those risks; the issues involving customs and trade authorities in both the countries of export and import, including both Customs and Border Protection and the Food & Drug Administration, which may ruin what otherwise would be a profitable transaction; and the proper contracting principles to avoid fraud and compliance issues.
