Poston of Squire Patton Boggs, hosted by the Fiduciary Trust Company International at 2 Alhambra Plaza, PH1A, Coral Gables, FL 33134, starting at 12:00 p.m. A former Assistant US Attorney with the US Attorney’s Office in Miami, Florida, and Special Attorney with the DOJ’s Organized Crime and Racketeering Section in Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Poston now focuses her practice on defending complex domestic and international white collar criminal cases, successfully representing multinational, public and private corporations, brokerage firms and banks, airlines and shipping lines, maritime brokers, medical devise and pharmaceuticals companies, and industrial manufacturing and agricultural companies, as well as their officers, directors, and employees.
Ms. Poston heads the firm’s global FCPA/anticorruption and compliance team consisting of more than 50 partners and associates located in the United States, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. She has written FCPA corporate compliance programs and conducted FCPA training, audits and internal investigations for Fortune 100 and 500 companies around the globe.
In 2010, Ms. Poston was inducted as a Fellow into the American Bar Foundation. An authority on white collar criminal defense, she was named Who’s Who Legal 100 as one of the top lawyers in the area of Business Crime Defense in the US. She is consistently named as one of Florida’s Super Lawyers in her field, a ranking that places her among the top 5% of all Florida lawyers. Ms. Poston has been listed each year in The Best Lawyers in America since 2003, recognized for her high-calibre work in the practice areas of Criminal Defense: General Practice and Criminal Defense: White Collar. She has also been named as one of Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine each year since 2004, and in 2010 she was selected by South Florida’s Legal Guide as one of eight women lawyers who had excelled in their legal careers.

The International Law Section invites all members to join The Florida Bar Tax Section for its International Tax Conference and Boot Camp on January 15-17 at the JW Marriott in Miami, Florida. The January 15 ITC BootCamp is an introductory level program designed to prepare attendees with a foundational understanding of international tax. For the first time ever, the program will also be available via live webcast. The January 16-17 International Tax Conference provides substantive content for certified public accountants and attorneys with a specialization in international tax. The ITC is also available via live webcast. IRS Commissioner Charles P. Rettig is the ITC luncheon keynote speaker on Friday, January 17. The global tax landscape is constantly changing, and attendees of the ITC will leave equipped with the latest topics, trends, and tools.
