Please join the International Law Section on Wednesday, May 13th for a virtual presentation with Effie D. Silva, Esq., FCIArb, a Florida Bar attorney, corporate legal counsel, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Silva is a graduate from Wellesley College and the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and currently serves as the Group Ethics and Compliance Director for Protein NA and Salt for Cargill, Inc., a global food and agricultural company. In that capacity, Effie is an independent, objective, and strategic ethics and compliance advisor on behalf of the company’s business groups and as a fiduciary to the audit committee of the Board.
Prior to Cargill, Effie served as Vice-President and Associate General Counsel of Tyson Foods, Inc., an international food company, where she led the Prepared Foods and Sustainability business units, providing strategic legal guidance on commercial business agreements, M&A, marketing and intellectual property matters, dispute resolution proceedings and data privacy/cyberbreach matters. Before moving in-house, Effie was a Partner at both McDermott, Will & Emery and Duane Morris and a senior lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, representing clients in commercial business matters, regulatory investigations and international litigation and arbitration disputes.
