Past ILS Chair, Al Lindsay, co-authored a law review article titled “Lola v. Skadden and the Automation of the Legal Profession” that was recently published by the prestigious Yale Journal of Law & Technology. The article is an important commentary for all lawyers and is particularly meaningful in this day and age. In it, Lindsay and his co-authors examine the advancement of artificial intelligence and the effect this technology will have on the practice of law in the coming years. Perhaps most significantly, the article addresses skills that lawyers of the future will need to hone in order to remain competitive at a time when much of their traditional stock in trade may be supplanted by machines. The article may be read and downloaded here.
The ILS is a forum for the exchange of hot-button, need-to-know information and best-practices that impact the practice of international law.
