The NSU International Arbitration Society invites all ILS members to attend “Issues in International Arbitration CLE.” The presentation will focus on issues relating primarily to investors and State arbitration, as they are common to all cross-border transactions possibly resulting in arbitration; Jurisdictional issues, such as nationality of claims, state responsibility for acts of agents of the state, and rights of non-signatory claimants; and Merit issues, such as expropriation/nationalization, direct and constructive takings, breaches of contractual obligations, Treaty obligations, including umbrella clauses, fair and equitable treatment, compensation, and compensation standards.
The program, featuring Srilal M. Perera, retired Professor of Law at the Washington College of Law – American University in Washington, D.C., is designed for practitioners and students interested in pursuing careers in international arbitration. 1.0 hours of CLE has been approved for the following certifications: International Law and International Litigation and Arbitration.
