MIAMI – April 24, 2014 — The statewide law firm of Broad and Cassel today announced that John Haley has joined the firm’s Miami office as a partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group and will serve an integral role in building the firm’s international practice.
“This is an exciting time for us here at Broad and Cassel, and we’re extremely pleased John has decided to join us,” said Mark Raymond, managing partner of the firm’s Miami office. “We kicked off 2014 with several key new hires in the Miami office. As we continue growing our corporate practice group and international presence, John will play an integral role. His experience with complex transactions will not only bolster our practice group but be a great asset for our clients.”
Haley brings extensive international experience to Broad and Cassel having represented clients in cross-border transactions from Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Broad and Cassel, Haley was a partner with DLA Piper in Miami where he represented some of the leading companies in Latin America.
His practice focuses on a wide variety of cross-border and domestic transactional matters, including project finance, mergers and acquisitions, private and public offerings of debt and equity securities, secured lending, joint ventures, private equity investments and other finance transactions. He holds in-depth experience in infrastructure and transportation matters, which will only build on the firm’s already robust work in the transportation industry.
Haley is a member of the The Florida Bar, the New York State Bar and the Dade County Bar Association. He also is the recipient of several local and national awards, including being recognized as one of Chambers USA’s “Leaders in Their Field” 2009. In 2012, Legal 500 Latin America recommended him for his Corporate/M&A practice.
Haley received his bachelor’s from the The University of Chicago and earned his juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
News of Haley joining the firm is just the latest growth announcement for the firm’s Miami office. Earlier this year, Broad and Cassel announced the hiring of Luca Bronzi and Amanda Star Frazer in the Miami office as senior counsel. In addition, Jon Wilson recently joined the firm as of counsel in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. The firm also announced that attorney Christopher Staller had been named partner in the Miami office.
