Rappel, of Rappel Health Law Group, P.L., was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in the Province of Ontario, and Called to the Bar at Convocation of the Law Society of Upper Canada in Toronto on September 18, 2013. Craig is also currently a Solicitor to the Senior Courts of England & Wales and is a Member of the Florida Bar Clients’ Security Fund Committee.

Peter Quinter, Shareholder and Chair of the Customs & International Trade Law Group at GrayRobinson, P.A., has been selected to present on “When Things Go Wrong: What Triggers CPB Enforcement and Penalties – Lessons Learned” as well as “Free Trade Agreement Success Stories – How to Maximize Duty Savings Under Korea, Colombia and DR-CAFTA, PTPA” at the American Conference Institute’s 2nd U.S. Customs Compliance Boot Camp on November 19-20, 2013.

Effie D. Silva has joined the international law firm McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in its Trial Practice Group, based in Miami.

Ms. Silva focuses her practice on complex international commercial litigation and arbitration matters. She has represented foreign and domestic clients in various industries throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia in a wide range of federal, state and international arbitration matters involving commercial disputes, business fraud, corporate governance, real estate, corporate dissolutions, enforcement of foreign judgments and injunctions, internal investigations, Foreign Corruption Practices Act (FCPA) matters, media, insurance coverage disputes, employment, products liability and mass tort litigation.

Laurence Gore Presents Speech on “Cruise Passenger Rights”

Laurence Gore presented a speech in Prague to the International Forum of Travel and Tourism Advocates and the United Nations World Travel Organization on “Cruise Passenger Rights” on October 24th.

Mr. Gore also spoke on enforcement procedures based on mediation principals for inclusion into the new UNWTO treaty. UNWTO spokesman agreed that the planned treaty needs to include both aspects. Further amendments are to be planned for future sessions in Barcelona.
